SUMMARY ABOUT ME

I have a passion for people and an insatiable desire to help others achieve optimal health through nutrition and lifestyle changes. I am the founder and President of the Kaizen Life Nutrition company, and the founder of the Kaizen Weigh series of nutrition programs. I do this all through personalized programs I developed through years of education, personal experience, and continual direct work with clients of all types. I have a strong faith in God, and use biblical principals as a foundation for how I approach my work.

MY STORY

I developed this passion for people and helping them achieve their best after reversing several chronic diagnosed medical conditions for myself through diet and lifestyle changes. I overcame biopsy-diagnosed Crohn’s Disease, chronic depression, and continue to mitigate chronic migraines. I do not claim that nutrition can fix everything, however I experienced firsthand the difference it can make.

MY EDUCATION
I am a lifelong learner, as you can see from my credentials below. But I don’t rest on my laurels. I am constantly researching, reading, and learning new methods and ways to apply science in application to the human body. Before studying and becoming a nutritionist, I was a successful software engineer. My problem-solving abilities as an engineer and mathematician allow me to truly understand the inner workings of the body - biochemistry and all. This unique background sets me apart as a nutritionist.
MY FOCUS
I work hard to unravel the web of conflicting information about nutrition, empowering my clients to make informed choices that are specific to their individual needs and based on science. I am able to break down difficult concepts in an easy-to-understand way for my clients. I love working with clients of all types: athletes looking to support training and racing, the general public looking to develop their nutrition foundation, and those who would like to explore the power of nutrition. My focus is on helping you achieve the best you can be.
MY PURSUIT
I love sport and pushing my body. I am a CrossFit junkie, backpacker, hiker, endurance athlete and avid cyclist. I have completed two 50-mile ultra-trail running races in mountainous terrain, several 50ks, and marathons. Prior to ultra-running, I completed a full 140.6 IronMan triathlon in 2010, several half IronMan triathlons, as well as numerous other running races and triathlons. I have also participated in several 24-hour bike rides and other epic multi-day bike events. I try to keep my body moving!
MY PHILOSOPHY
I believe we are all a work in progress when it comes to evolving into our best, most healthiest selves. The way we eat and move our bodies has to be sustainable or else it's a waste of time as we'll end up back in the same ruts we've been in. When working with me, you will find that I don't tell you what to do or not do. I don't prescribe meal plans (this is simply unrealistic) and I won't label any foods as good or bad. Our work together is primarily looking at your unique situation and coming up with small, realistic changes that you can implement. My work is based on a set of principles and philosophies I've developed over the years. We work together to discover the unique way these will be implemented in your day to day. I am a no shame, no guilt, no judgement yet straight-talking nutritionist.

WHAT IS "KAIZEN"

Kaizen is a Japanese concept that signifies "continuous improvement." It is a philosophy and approach that focuses on making small, incremental changes over time to achieve ongoing progress and growth. Applied to health and well-being, kaizen promotes gradual adjustments in habits, routines, and mindset. These changes impact nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, and self-care. By embracing kaizen, individuals develop sustainable improvements in their overall well-being, leading to a balanced and fulfilling life. It’s my life philosophy, and the “why” behind how I named my company.
